LEAGUE EXAMINES MEDIA’S INFLUENCE ON AMERICAN POLITICS, VOTERS

Event Features Presentations by Celinda Lake and Lee Rainie

Washington, DC On Thursday, October 23, the League of Women Voters will sponsor a pre-election conversation, “Examining the Influence of the Media (Traditional and New) on America’s Political Dialogue and Debate.”   Speaking at the event will be two highly respected individuals who will discuss the impact and role of the media on our nation’s political dialogue and American voters.

WHY:             An insightful and interesting hour-long conversation addressing these questions and more:   How does the media influence voters’ understanding of the American political system?  Have there been changes over time?  Are there differences between the impact of traditional and new media within our society?   How do voters feel about the role of the media?
