The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin Setting the Basis for Reform
on Recusal
The League of Women Voters
of Wisconsin are at the forefront of recusal reform for
judges. Since the Caperton
vs. Massey decision was handed down by the United States Supreme
Court on June 8th, courts in several states have been trying to figure
out how to apply the deicsion in their state. The League of Women
Voters of Wisconsin has been one of the most active groups on this issue
-- including by petitioning the Wisconsin Supreme Court to
institute new
rules that prohibit judges from rulling on cases involving
major campaign contributors. Wisconsin online news articles
