Today is the beginning of Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW), a time set aside to honor the men and women who serve as federal, state, county, and local government employees.  These often underappreciated individuals are the everyday heroes that ensure our government is the best in the world. Take time today to thank those that have chosen the honorable path of public service.

Thank those that care for our veterans, keep us safe from diseases, and fight to protect democracy around the world.  League members work side by side public servants every day – helping to improve our elections process, bringing transparency to the inner workings of government, and preserving our environment for generations to come.  The Partnership for Public Service has named 33 federal employees or federal employee teams as Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal finalists. They will be honored May 9 in Washington as part of Public Service Recognition Week.

We are happy to have this opportunity to publicly thank those that have chosen the honorable path.  Public servants deserve our thanks throughout the year and we invite you to continue honoring them for the work they do each and every day.  Have you honored your public service heroes?
