Judy Duffy was first elected to the LWVUS/EF Board in 2006 and served as chair of the Advocacy Committee. In 2008, Ms. Duffy was re-elected to the Board and served as Advocacy chair and 2nd vice president. Re-elected to the Board in 2010, Ms, Duffy serves as Advocacy chair and 1st vice president. She chaired the LWVUS/EF Budget Committee from 2004-06, and was a member of the LWVUS/EF Budget Committee from 2002-04. She was a member of the LWVUS/EF study committee on U.S. Aid to Developing Countries from 1984-86, and a member of the LWVUS delegations to NATO Headquarters, Turkey (1985), and to then West Germany (1989). Ms. Duffy joined the League of Women Voters in 1980.

Ms. Duffy was the president of the LWV Minnesota and Education Fund from 1997-2001; LWVMN/EF 1st vice president and Voters Service chair from 1995-97; a member of the Steering Committee for Power of 3, a $4 million capital campaign for the LWVMN/EF in 2002-06.

Ms. Duffy also served as a member of Minnesota Supreme Court Advisory Committee reviewing the Code of Judicial Conduct and Rules of the Board on Judicial Standards. She has been a member of the KidsVoting Minnesota Board from 1995 to 2006.

Ms. Duffy was elected to the City Council of Birchwood Village (MN) and served from 1988-94. She was nominated and named a 1990-91 Mondale Fellow, an ongoing series of public policy studies at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute under the direction of former U.S. Vice President Walter Mondale. She has worked on a variety of public education and advocacy programs on national security, campaign practices, campaign finance, and social issues. She also served on the campaign staff for a candidate for the U.S. Senate as issues director.

Ms. Duffy received the 2005 LWVMN Hope Washburn Award for Outstanding Service to the League of Women Voters of Minnesota. She was honored with this award in recognition of her many years of service to the League. Among the activities cited in the award is her service as moderator of debates for candidates for public office from the local to national level.

She received her BA degree in French/History from the University of Minnesota, and did postgraduate course work in Public Affairs at the Humphrey Institute, University of Minnesota.

For relaxation, Ms. Duffy enjoys golf, downhill skiing, gardening, walking and reading.
