MacNamara called the meeting to order at 9:12 a.m.
Minutes
Wilson moved that the Minutes of the June 17, 2011 meeting of the LWVEF Board of Trustees be accepted as corrected. Seconded. Passed.
Wilson moved that the Minutes of the June 20, 2011 meeting of the LWVEF Board of Trustees be accepted as corrected. Seconded. Passed.
Financial
Wilson moved that the Financial Report dated August 31, 2011 of the LWVEF be accepted as presented. Seconded. Passed.
Leatherwood noted that unrestricted operating income through August 30, 2011 is $39,395, representing 6% of the annual budgeted amount. Total unrestricted operating expenses through August 30, 2011 were $127,932, representing 11% of the annual budgeted amount. The change in unrestricted net assets from operations was ($88,537). Investments decreased in value by $235,452.
Education Fund Committee Report
Nancy Tate gave an overview of the Education Fund projects.
Davis moved that the Voters’ Guides: Advertising Guidance be approved. Passed.
Turrill moved that the Guidelines for State and Local League Debates, including “empty chair” Debates be reaffirmed. Passed
McMillen moved that the policy titled Projects Involving Presidential Candidates Committee be accepted as corrected. Passed
Wiant moved that the 2012 Presidential Candidate Participation Guidelines be accepted as corrected. Passed
Turrill moved that the LWVUS join the Vision 2020 Partnership. Passed.
National Studies
McMillen moved that the consensus questions for the Privatization Study as amended be approved. Passed.
MacNamara adjourned the meeting at 11:45 AM
