Susan Morris Wilson was elected LWVUS/LWVEF secretary/treasurer in June 2010. She was the LWVUS Budget Committee chair in 2008-10. She joined the League in 1995 and has served in leadership roles at local, state and national levels. She is currently the president (2001-2010) of the LWV of Redding (CA) and has served as the Voter Services chair. Ms. Wilson served on the LWVC Board as treasurer from 2003 to 2007 and currently manages the mental health portfolio.

Ms. Wilson currently works as the executive director of the Health Improvement Partnership of Shasta. The non-profit organization focuses on youth as a critical part of a healthy community. In addition, she teaches early childhood education classes at Shasta College. She previously served as the executive director of First 5 Siskiyou and worked for First 5 California as a consultant. Ms. Wilson continues to be involved in programs that address community mental health issues including the Shasta County Mental Health Board, the CA Association of Local Mental Health Boards and Commissions, and the CA Mental Health Planning Council. She has served as a member of the Shasta County Board of Education for almost 20 years.

Ms. Wilson holds a BS in Child Development from the University of California, Davis, and an MA in Public Policy Studies, Claremont University (Claremont, CA).

Ms. Wilson’s most recent accomplishment was certification as a Master Gardener and she enjoys her garden full of roses and herbs. She has lived in Redding CA for the past 20 years.
