Texas voter photo ID law struck down
By: KellyGreat news today for all Texas voters. A U.S. Federal District Court found that the Texas voter photo identification law violates Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act. National League President Elisabeth MacNamara remarked, "The importance of this case cannot be overstated: It is a landmark decision for voting rights in America and helps ensure America’s elections treat all citizens equally, and are free, fair and accessible.”

Enthusiasm Builds for Future of the League: MLD Program Trains 4 States in 4 Weeks

After a wonderful financial out-pouring of support for the MLD program at the LWVUS Convention in June 2012, Cheryl, Carol, Kelly, and I (the League trainers for the MLD program) have been met with enthusiasm for the program and for the future of the League.
