This week LWVUS, the League of Women Voters of Arizona and the League of Women Voters of Kansas jointly sought to intervene in the case Kobach v. Election Assistance Commission (EAC), which involves the requirements to provide documentary proof-of-citizenship on the national mail-in voter registration application form.
Nationwide, more than 5,500 races and ballot initiatives will be decided this election season. These races are about jobs, economic security, the environment, health care and more. We all need to weigh in.
Election Day is less than a month away in most states. Millions of voters will participate in important state and local elections this year. We hope you’re planning to participate if there are elections in your area and hope you’ll encourage your loved ones to do the same.
Tuesday was the second annual National Voter Registration Day. Across the country 800 organizations came together sponsoring registration events. The League came out in force with 300+ events aimed at the one in four eligible Americans who are not registered to vote–likely making us once again the single largest on-the-ground participant in this day.
The leaders you elect make the decisions that affect you – your job, health care, energy costs, security and more. The League helps you to get registered, get to know the candidates and issues, and get out and vote.
