Developing an Action Agenda for Redistricting in 2011
The League and the Campaign Legal Center (CLC) recently released the final report and summary of the 2009 conference "Developing an Action Agenda for Redistricting in 2011." With support from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Joyce Foundation and the Ford Foundation, the League and CLC brought together redistricting activists and experts to determine how to influence the results of the upcoming redistricting processes in states following the 2010 Census.

Report of the Election Audits Task Force
The Election Audits Task Force was convened in spring 2008 by President Mary Wilson with the charge to produce a report taking a comprehensive view of election audits. Audits should go beyond Election Day activities and functions, and examine all aspects of the election process. Leagues should find this report useful in talking with their legislatures and elections officials about election auditing.

League Urges Court to Protect Minority Voters' Rights
In an amicus curiae brief, the League asked the Supreme Court to protect fair voting districts by holding that the Voting Rights Act does not require a minority community's size to meet a rigid numerical quota.
This follows successful League action last year to ask the Court to take up this important redistricting case.

League Files Amicus Brief in North Carolina Voting Rights Act Case
LWVUS filed an amicus brief in the Supreme Court that will determine the rights of minority voters in North Carolina. The brief urges the Court to hear the case which will review the Voting Rights Act in relation to a 2003 redistricting in North Carolina.
