The League, with coalition partners, urged House and Senate committee leaders to investigate and hold hearings on the systemic problems with the Federal Election Commission.
In an amicus curiae brief, the League asked the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals not to grant en banc review of a previous decision invalidating the Arizona proof-of-citizenship requirement for voter registration.
The League has worked for many decades to reform the redistricting process.

“Today, American voters went to the polls, casting their ballots and making their voices heard. The League was there for voters, making a powerful contribution to election 2010. We are proud of our work this year, registering, educating and urging voters to participate in this important election.

The League and the Campaign Legal Center (CLC) recently released the final report and summary of the 2009 conference "Developing an Action Agenda for Redistricting in 2011." With support from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Joyce Foundation and the Ford Foundation, the League and CLC brought together redistricting activists and experts to determine how to influence the results of the upcoming redistricting processes in states following the 2010 Census.
