On February 13, the League and other reform groups sent a letter to the Office of Congressional Ethics urging them to stand fast on the commissions current Rules of Procedure.
Next Tuesday, February 12th, President Obama will deliver his annual State of the Union (SOTU) address, which will outline his key priorities for the year and second term in office. The League will be eagerly tuning in to learn more about how the President plans to tackle our top issues, including money in politics, election reform, climate change, gun safety, and immigration.
The League joined coalition partners in sending the following letter to the U.S. Senate. The letter calls on the Senate to oppose efforts to restore the party soft money system. It also asks the Senate to oppose increasing the limits on the aggregate amounts that an individual can give to parties or candidates.

The League sent a follow up letter to Speaker Boehner and Minority Leader Pelosi in support of the continued operation of the Office of Congressional Ethics.
The League and other coalition partners sent a letter to the White House encouraging President Obama to fix the FEC.
Only a few short weeks have passed since Election Day, but it already feels like a lifetime ago. No longer are voters in swing states subjected to nonstop political ads, and the evening news is once again covering a host of national and international issues instead of just wall-to-wall coverage of the presidential campaign. But, Election Day was as much a starting line as it was an end point. Now is the time to reflect back on the 2012 election and look toward what’s to come in 2013.

The League joined with coalition partners in sending a letter to House Speaker Boehner and Minority Leader Pelosi expressing support for the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) and urging them to ensure its uninterrupted operations in the next Congress by reactivating the agency and appointing the necessary board members.
