Convention 2014 in Dallas TX

Nominations for National Board - Deadline September 30!
The Nominating Committee does not actually nominate people. You, the members, do that! And we are actively seeking recommendations now for LWVUS National Board for 2014-2016. So if you know someone you think would be a good national leader, please nominate them and help us build another great LWVUS Board!

  • President's Packet

On behalf of the LWVUS Board and staff, I would like to thank you for your dedication and commitment in furthering the mission and ideals of the League of Women Voters by serving as a League leader. We are pleased to share with you several tools to assist you in your leadership role, and we hope that you will share these with other leaders in your League. While the information in the President's Packet is a few years out of date, we continue to add resources to the LWVUS website.
  • A Treasure for Treasurers: Tips for Managing Your League's Finances

This downloadable PowerPoint has information on what kinds of procedures Leagues should have in place to protect its funds; including financial authorizations, record keeping, separation of responsibilities and audits. Read through this valuable information to learn about how having an education fund can be used to strengthen your League!
  • Has Your League Filed Its Form 990-N Yet?

All Leagues that receive less than $25,000 in income must file an e-postcard return (also known as Form 990N) every year. The only exceptions are Leagues that are included in their state League’s group return or that file the more complicated Form 990 or 990-EZ. If your League hasn’t filed the online form yet, please do so immediately.
  • PMP - What Does It Go For?

With each level of League focused on its own sphere of influence – but working collaboratively for the common good – the League of Women Voters demonstrates its unique power to combine this broad range of skills and resources to “Make Democracy Work” for all Americans! LWVUS plays an important part – and so do all of you! PMP covers 23% of the cost programs in the LWVUS/LWVEF budget.
