Convention 2014 in Dallas TX

Nominations for National Board - Deadline September 30!
The Nominating Committee does not actually nominate people. You, the members, do that! And we are actively seeking recommendations now for LWVUS National Board for 2014-2016. So if you know someone you think would be a good national leader, please nominate them and help us build another great LWVUS Board!

  • Barbara Grosh

"I've been so impressed with the people I meet through the League. They are so down-to-earth and hard-working. No big ego trips, no holier-than-thou political correctness. Just really well-informed people who are in it for the long haul."
  • Charlotte Faris

"I decided then and there to join the League which in fact did "get into" matters of local and national concern. They did not disappoint."
  • Nikole Wolfe

"Working with my local league has enabled me to meet some remarkable people, gain leadership skills and become a better public speaker. I wouldn’t trade my League experience for anything."
  • Clint Weirick

"Many times local issues in my community don't get the focus and attention they need to genuinely educate and engage the public on them...including me! Public forums my local League conducts make me feel a true personal connection to local issues and candidates."
  • Florence Hedeen

"Our LWV unit has been behind many positive changes, including getting women to run for office and elected to serve! We are appreciated and looked to as change agents for the greater good."
  • Shayna Howell

"I decided to join the League to contribute a small amount of money to their civic engagement efforts. Five years later, I know how important the League is to registering voters, but even more importantly they are a source of unbiased information when it can be hard to find."
  • Diana Haskell

"Being a League member has greatly expanded my life! When I joined LWV of Wake County, NC, affordable housing and comprehensive sex education were my primary interests. Eventually, I became chair of the education committee and then League president."
