    Conduct Voter Registration at Wrestling Events!

    The League is once again teaming up with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to encourage voter registration and participation among young and first-time voters. Leagues are invited to conduct voter registration at live wrestling events across the country. Check the calendar below for events scheduled near you, and contact Maggie Duncan (Mduncan@lwv.org) if you would like to be connected to the organizers of a scheduled event near you.     2012 Presidential Candidate Participation Guidelines

    The LWVEF Board recently adopted guidelines for all activities involving presidential candidates in the lead-up to Election 2012. These guidelines cover online and print voters' guides and debates and will be applied to VOTE411.org.

    As many of you know, I’m serving my third term on the national board, and, in addition to being first vice president, I’m chairing the Advocacy Committee.  Before being asked to be on the LWVUS board, I was president of the League of Women Voters of Minnesota and served on the Developing Countries  committee at the national level, as well as the Budget Committee.  So I’ve had a number of opportunities to see the League from different perspectives.

    A Treasure for Treasurers: Tips for Managing Your League's Finances

    This 2010 Convention workshop focused on fiscal issues encountered by local and state Leagues. It provided information on what kinds of procedures Leagues should have in place to protect your League's funds: financial authorizations, record keeping, separation of responsibilities, audits. Participants will also learn about how Education Funds can be used to strengthen your League: appropriate uses and, if your League does not have an Education Fund account, how you can access the services of the national League's Education Fund.
