League Saddened by Death of Bob Edgar, Common Cause President & CEO

Statement of Elisabeth MacNamara, President of the League of Women Voter of the U.S.

Washington, DC – “We were deeply saddened upon hearing the news earlier today of the sudden passing of our friend and partner, Bob Edgar, the President and CEO of Common Cause.

“Bob was an energetic and passionate leader in working for open and responsive government and tirelessly fought for social justice at every opportunity.  It was always a pleasure to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Bob in so many of these efforts.

“His voice will be missed but his passion will be carried on by so many at Common Cause.

“The entire League family extends our deepest condolences to his family during this most difficult time.”
