As voters across the country prepare to head to the polls tomorrow, we at the League of Women Voters are doing everything we can to make sure everyone has the information they need to successfully cast a vote.
Exactly one week before Election Day 2012, I cast my ballot at recreation center near my home. I got my sticker which says "I am proud to be a Georgia Voter." That has always been true ever since I cast my first Georgia vote at a firehouse near Emory University.

Last week, I finally reached the end of the road – or road trip – in Minnesota. Wrapping up an eight-state election 2012 tour in Minnesota was fitting as the state League is still engaged in an all-out campaign to defeat a confusing proposal to amend the state constitution. The proposed amendment, if passed, would require restrictive voter photo ID.
Flying from Miami to Milwaukee in October presents some challenges when it comes to packing, and while I certainly noticed the drop in temperature, my welcome to Wisconsin could not have been warmer! It is a true pleasure to meet with so many committed League volunteers as I crisscross the country this fall.
Yesterday, Pennsylvania Judge Robert Simpson issued a temporary injunction, halting the state’s photo voter ID law in advance of the November elections. This decision removes an unnecessary barrier to voting for hundreds of thousands of the state’s eligible voters, and is a victory for the voters of Pennsylvania and our democracy.
