Early this month, a plethora of voter suppression bills were introduced by members of the North Carolina Legislature.
“Section 5 has helped transform American democracy from a restricted, segregated past to one of remarkable inclusion,” said MacNamara. “The enormity of this threat cannot be overstated. The importance of the outcome of this case cannot be overstated."
Great news today for all Texas voters. A U.S. Federal District Court found that the Texas voter photo identification law violates Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.
