Member Spotlight
Amy Hjerstedt

Amy Hjerstedt is a member of the LWV of Michigan. She lives in the city of Sault Sainte Marie. Amy became a League member as an undergraduate and is especially interested in women’s and minority issues. She earned a B.S. in Social Science from Portland State University and an M.A. in Political Science from American Public University.
She has been a member of the LWV of Portland, the LWV of San Diego, and the LWV of California. In 2011, Amy worked on the LWVC study about the state’s initiative and referendum process and attended the State Convention in Ventura.
Recently, she has volunteered at her local parks and recreation department and a parent advocacy group. Amy is also a co-chair of the LWVUS Young People Task Force (YPTF).
