Betsy Lawson currently serves as the Special Projects Coordinator at the League of Women Voters U.S.  For over thirty years, she was Senior Lobbyist at the LWVUS, after working on Capitol Hill.

Betsy attended Mount Holyoke College, Williams College and Catholic University School of Law. She is a member of the D.C. Bar and the Massachusetts Bar. Betsy lives in Virginia with her family and their incorrigible golden retriever, Sassy, who lives up to her name.

State and local Leagues throughout the country have been working with government agencies, health care providers and advocates to get the word out to the American people on the Affordable Care Act and its pivotal impact on their lives.

Today, the League marks the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States.
