Visit Chicago’s celebrated architecture, both old and new. The League of Women Voters of Illinois has arranged discounted rates for League members and their friends for the famous Chicago Architecture Foundation River Cruise aboard Chicago's First Lady Cruises and the Foundation’s most popular walking tour: Historic Skyscrapers. Choose one or more of the following tours that take place shortly before and after the Convention:
Thursday, June 28 at 10 am: River Cruise at the discounted rate of $38 plus small process fee. (90 minutes)
Experience the “top tour in Chicago and one of the top ten tours in the U.S.” according to TripAdvisor users. The CAF River Cruise is a must for out-of-towners and Chicagoans alike. CAF-certified docents interpret more than 50 buildings along the Chicago River. Discover how Chicago grew from a small settlement into one of the world’s largest cities in under 100 years.
Meet: At least 15 minutes before the cruise at the Chicago First Lady Dock at the river level, down the stairs at the NE corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive. Look for the League volunteer who will exchange your receipt for the ticket needed to board. Seats on the boat are first-come, first-served. The dock is about 11 blocks north on Michigan Ave. from the Hilton. You can take the #3 CTA bus from the stop across the street from the Hotel on Michigan to the Michigan and South Water stop.
Sunday, July 1 at 1:30 pm: Historic Skyscrapers Walking tour at the discounted rate of $18 plus small processing fee. (90 minutes)
Chicago is home to some of the world's earliest skyscrapers and tall building innovations. On this tour step back in time to the late 19th century and experience these world-famous early tall buildings. See how a city devastated by fire transformed into a center of skyscraper design and engineering. Of special interest, see the Congress Hotel where the League was formed on Feb. 14, 1920.
Meet: At least 15 minutes before the start of the tour at the NW corner of Michigan and Congress at the Auditorium Building. Look for the League volunteer who will take your receipt. This is a 3 block walk north from the Hilton.

See description above for the Thursday cruise, but note the time difference.
Note that tours go out rain or shine. All purchases final.
