LWVUS has put together guidance for Leagues to use when working with state legislatures or other government bodies regarding virtual meetings and transparency.

Leagues, as you communicate to voters during these very different times, use these talking points to guide your messaging.

While these are extraordinary times, there are meetings that we must conduct to keep business moving forward. Those that have legal implications, such as annual meetings and state conventions/councils, require some additional preparations to ensure their validity when conducting them in a virtual setting.

There are endless resources available that provide guidance on conducting business online or remotely and hundreds of platforms to facilitate that work.  We have curated a listing of best practices and some guidance on platforms to cut through some of the clutter and provide the most relevant content.

The League  supports these voting rights principles to ensure voters can safely participate in elections in 2020. These policy recommendations were carefully crafted with Impact on Issues positions at top of mind and reconciled with our work with coalition voting rights partners in response to the current global pandemic.

As a part of League’s commitment to state and local Leagues and ILOs, we are providing resources to help members become even more effective in their roles, through an organizational membership with BoardSource.

The LWVUS National Popular Vote Task Force was established in May 2019 to explore and evaluate state League support for the NPV interstate compact.
