Nearly 104 years ago, the League of Women Voters was founded in Chicago.

It was February 1920, nearly six months before the 19th Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing women the right to vote.

Decades later, the league is active in all fifty states, working to protect and expand voting rights.

And people here in Illinois will have the chance to exercise that right, with the primary election coming up on March 19.

But the Bucks crew didn't do it alone — the real MVP's of the day were the volunteers with the League of Women Voters who assisted dozens of students eager to become registered voters.

"We are just so excited to help high school students get registered to vote and they get so excited when they realize they can do it in five minutes," said Judy Winn with the League of Women Voters.

The League of Women Voters Ohio is filing a joint-lawsuit challenging the part of the law that limits who can deliver an absentee ballot to the board of elections.
