On Tuesday, Americans will celebrate National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) with a 50-state effort to register voters.

The League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh want you to spend your Tuesday exercising “one of our most basic rights” and register to vote.

If you aren't registered, are new to the area or have moved since the last election, take advantage of this opportunity to register locally.

Imagine what our country would be like if every single American adult was registered to vote and voted.One in four eligible Americans are not registered.

"With the backdrop of National Voter Registration Day on Sept. 25, the League of Women Voters of Southeastern Connecticut has scheduled voter registration sessions in New London, Groton and Norwich, with more expected in October."

The League of Women Voters will hold more than 500 voter registration events on September 24 for National Voter Registration Day.

Tulsa's League of Women Voters will participate in the second annual National Voter Registration Day along with organizations across the country next week.
