New Voters

Almost 1 million immigrants became naturalized citizens in 2022, expanding the electorate significantly. During that time, 31 League volunteer teams across the country reported attending close to 800 naturalization ceremonies and registering over 37,000 New Americans to participate in our democracy — this represents just a small portion of our 750+ Leagues’ impact. 

On Monday, a Judge in New Hampshire issued an injunction stopping the state from advancing a controversial election law requiring extra documentation in order to register to vote.

League of Women Voters volunteers nationwide have passed a major milestone: hosting more than 600 school registration drives and registering nearly 20,000 students to vote so far this year.

Our volunteers have been out in force, working with passionate students to register new voters at their school walkouts, marches, and other events across the country. 

As a citizen of both the U.S. and the U.K., I believe it is important to be politically engaged in both of the countries that I call home.

As young people, we’re helping shape the future of our country, and it's our responsibility to turn out in large numbers on November 4!

VOTE411.org did more than just help me register to vote. It also gave me the information I needed to vote for the very first time this Election Day.

As young adults, we should be at the frontlines in helping decide the path of our country if we’re going to make the future our own.

Immigrants from Peru, my parents taught me that voting is essential in order for all citizens to have a voice in their country’s government.

Graduation is a major milestone. We want to help recent graduates become active and engaged members of their new communities – help us encourage them to register to vote!
