Thanksgiving is a day when we join with our family and friends to reflect on all that we are thankful for. You, together with all of the League’s supporters, have made this an amazing year for the League of Women Voters and for our democracy.

#GivingTuesday is a day to support the organizations that mean the most to us, and that is why I will be supporting the League of Women Voters. I hope you will, too!

On Tuesday, we brought together supporters, policymakers and members of the media to introduce Dr. Wylecia Wiggs Harris as our newest executive director and to bid a fond farewell to our previous executive director, Nancy Tate who led the League for 15 years.

From the tip of Maine to the coast of California, Leagues have been working to register voters and ensure our elections are free, fair and accessible to all voters. We have put together a brief slide show to highlight some of the most exciting victories you helped make possible.

Yesterday, millions of voters across the country took control in their communities by casting their votes in thousands of state and local elections. If you voted this year or helped others in your community cast their votes, thank you!

Voters can use VOTE411.org to create a personalized voting guide. Simply enter an address to access all the information you need to prepare for Election Day, including details on polling locations and what to expect on your ballot.

The 2016 primaries are not the only important elections coming up. On Tuesday, November 3,  thousands of important state and local elections will happen across the country.

For the fourth straight year, organizations across the country are celebrating National Voter Registration Day by registering thousands of new voters. Join us in helping register voters!
