Voting accessibility and civic engagement among young people started interesting Gaelen in undergrad when she conducted research regarding voting participation in young people. She has worked to register students and young people to vote while explaining voting law, registration, and polling information. Gaelen's experience helping young people participate in the political process helped her foster a passion for advocating for voters and fair elections.

On June 27th, the U.S. Supreme Court held that they would continue to pass no judgment and not intervene in partisan gerrymandering cases. That means the Supreme Court will not set a standard for when redistricting is done in a way that intentionally groups voters by political party.
