WASHINGTON – Today the League of Women Voters of the United States CEO Virginia Kase Solomón issued the following statement in response to the House reintroduction of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act:
Lawsuit filed on behalf of voters, MOVE Texas Civic Fund, the League of Women Voters of Texas, Austin Justice Coalition, and Coalition of Texans with Disabilities challenging the state’s signature verification process for mail-in ballots.
From January – August 2023, state legislatures nationwide passed various bills into law. While following these developments, the League noticed several important trends around voting rights and election administration.
