Women's Inequality Day: League Toolkit

Join us Aug. 26 for our Women's Inequality Day campaign. This toolkit outlines social media and messaging guidance for Leagues.

Overview

August 26, otherwise known as Women's Equality Day, marks the anniversary of the certification of the 19th Amendment, which granted some women the right to vote. Yet today, women have fewer rights than they'd had in decades. To recognize this, we acknowledge Women's Inequality Day.

Our Campaign

This year, we’re encouraging Leagues to fold their Women's (In)equality Day events into our Unite and Rise framework. Women power our democracy, and we know that issues central to many women voters — from access to reproductive health care to the Equal Rights Amendment — are essential in a fair and equitable democracy.

We recognize that Leagues may already have content or campaigns planned for Women's Equality Day. This toolkit is available for Leagues interested in participating in our campaign. Leagues are not required to align with LWVUS's messaging around Women's Equality Day.
