As founder and president/CEO of Global Communities Houston, LLC, Claudia leads a mission-driven platform advancing education, community empowerment, and social justice through strategic partnerships.
Throughout her career, Claudia has prioritized civic leadership, inclusion, and systemic change. She made history as the first Latina president of the League of Women Voters of Houston, where she championed diverse community outreach, led voter education initiatives, and advanced programs empowering voters and defending democracy. Her public service includes leadership as district director for Congresswoman Sylvia R. García (TX-29), where she strengthened community relationships and collaborated across city, county, state, and federal levels, overseeing district initiatives, constituent services, and government affairs.
Previously, she held senior leadership roles at the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund as Southwest and Texas State Director, spearheading naturalization campaigns, census outreach, voter engagement, and community mobilization across the region.
Widely recognized for her ability to build coalitions across sectors, Claudia is committed to creating pathways that empower underserved communities to succeed in advocacy, public service, education, civic engagement, social justice, and economic opportunity. Her collaborative approach bridges organizations, businesses, and individuals, fostering inclusive opportunities and lasting impact.
She serves on multiple nonprofit boards and advisory councils, including AVANCE-Houston (Vice Chair), Houston ToolBank (Vice Chair), the National Immigration Forum, Bonding Against Adversity, and Fit Houston, and has held numerous civic and advisory appointments over the past two decades.
Claudia holds a BS in International Business from Oral Roberts University, a graduate certificate in ESL from the University Language Institute and is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum (Class LIV).
