Board member Kathleen Kastelic

Kathleen Kastelic became involved with the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa in 2009 by taking part in candidate and issue forums and position studies. Later, Kathleen served on its board as Treasurer, President, Chair of the Education Fund, and a member of the nominating committee. Additionally, Kathleen served four terms as Treasurer for the League of Women Voters of Oklahoma. During her tenure with the Oklahoma League, Kathleen was part of the team that developed the first statewide voter guide, which continues to this day. Kathleen has served two terms on the LWVUS finance committee and was a member of the most recent budget committee.

Kathleen began her 40-year finance and accounting career in public accounting as an auditor and later managed finance departments for both publicly held and private enterprises. Kathleen retired as Chief Financial Officer of a billion-dollar private charitable foundation in December 2019.

Since retirement, in addition to her League activities, Kathleen volunteers for the IRS Tax Assistance Program for Seniors, coordinates meal distribution for Meals on Wheels, and served for several years on the board of the Friends of the Tulsa City-County Libraries.

Kathleen is committed to the League’s mission to defend democracy and empower voters with access to accurate nonpartisan information on candidates, issues, and voting. She also strongly supports the League instigating or taking part in litigation when necessary. Kathleen freely admits that she teared up when watching “Suffs” and “Iron Jawed Angels.”
