Kathy Jones is a systems engineer, former federal civil servant, and project manager whose career included leading complex programs at NASA, where she specialized in systems engineering, risk management, strategic planning, and guiding multidisciplinary teams through high-stakes projects. 

A longtime League leader, Kathy served as president of the League of Women Voters of Alabama. Throughout her League service, she focused on expanding voter participation, strengthening advocacy, and building lasting partnerships with organizations representing historically underrepresented communities. Her work has helped deepen relationships between the League and community partners while broadening civic engagement efforts across Alabama. 

Since 2017, Kathy has led voter registration initiatives with high school students, reinforcing her commitment to preparing the next generation of voters for lifelong civic participation. Through this work, she has witnessed firsthand both the power of civic education and the barriers that prevent many communities from fully participating in democracy. 

Kathy is passionate about strengthening collaboration across local, state, and national Leagues, believing that shared knowledge and strong partnerships are essential to protecting voting rights and expanding civic participation. She is committed to helping communities develop practical civic skills, fostering meaningful public engagement, and ensuring that the League continues to build an inclusive, representative democracy that serves all people.
