Living in Atlanta, Georgia, Stacey Chavis serves as managing director of Campaigns Academy. She trains leaders to serve in elected office and serve in leadership positions for political candidates and campaigns. She also works with nonprofits to develop their public policy and advocacy agendas. Her work includes public policy, government affairs and nonprofit training. 

Stacey built her expertise in politics, public service, and public policy through the years serving at Oglethorpe University as adjunct professor in Political Science, public policy consultant with the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, southern regional director for the White House Project, deputy finance director for the Democratic Party of Georgia, finance director for Congressman Hank Johnson (D-GA 4th), and constituent services representative for former Congresswoman Denise Majette (D-GA 4th). Stacey has also worked for all three branches of the federal government. 

In the community, Stacey currently serves on the Voices for Georgia’s Children Board of Directors, YouthSpark Board of Directors, Junior Leagues of Georgia State Public Affairs Committee Board of Directors, Georgia Forward Board of Directors, Association of Junior Leagues International Governance Committee and Prevent Child Abuse Georgia Advisory Board. 

Previously, Stacey served on the Junior League of Atlanta Board of Directors, United Way of Greater Atlanta Board of Directors, Wellspring Living Board of Directors, League of Women Voters of Georgia Board of Directors, League of Women Voters of the United States Nominating Committee, Oglethorpe University National Alumni Association Board of Directors, and University of Georgia Alumni Association - Black Alumni Leadership Council. 

Stacey is a member of the Junior League of Atlanta, League of Women Voters Atlanta-Fulton County, Top Ladies of Distinction – North Atlanta Chapter, National Council of Negro Women - Greater Atlanta Section, and Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 

Stacey has received honors and awards for her service and commitment to the community. She received the Rising Star Award from the Association of Junior Leagues International for her work in educating the Atlanta community about the dangers of the human trafficking of children. The Atlanta Business League honored her as one of Atlanta's Top 100 Women of Influence. Stacey was an honoree in Outstanding Atlanta that recognized ten young professionals for their leadership and outstanding community service. She was named to the University of Georgia 40 under 40 Class of 2020 and was featured as a Daily Point of Light by Points of Light for her work in advocacy and mentorship. Stacey was featured on the cover of the Atlanta Tribune Magazine's Young Executives Edition. She was also featured as an Unsung Hero in Simply Buckhead magazine for her work in the fight against human trafficking of children. 

A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Stacey received a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology with a politics minor from Oglethorpe University and attended The Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in the study of law from the University of Georgia School of Law.
