Yesterday, millions of Americans in states across the country cast ballots in some 5,500 local and state elections. Voters, like you, recognized that voting is your chance to stand up for what matters most, particularly during “off-year” elections that directly impact your families, communities and daily lives. Whether your local Election Day was yesterday, you voted earlier this season or you helped voters in other communities find the information they needed to vote, the League thanks you for being active participants in our government!
Our gratitude goes out not only to voters, but also to all the poll workers and volunteers – including League leaders – who helped energize people to vote, connect voters with voter education resources like VOTE411.org and ensure that Election Day activities ran smoothly. We thank the many volunteers and League members who worked tirelessly this Election season to register voters, host candidate debates and forums and provide millions of voters with voter guides and vital online resources.
Martin Luther King, Jr., said, "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." Whether you voted in-person, through early or absentee ballot, or helped other voters find the information they needed, we thank you for refusing to remain silent and taking a stand on the issues that impact you, your family and your future. Thank you for Making Democracy Work®!
