Tomorrow is National Voter Registration Day!

Blog / Last Updated:

First launched by the League and partner organizations in 2012, National Voter Registration Day has become a nationwide, multi-sector, all-hands-on-deck day to register as many voters as possible.

As the largest single on-the-ground partner for this national day of democracy, the League has been instrumental in its success. Last year 400 Leagues in 47 states with 4,318 volunteers helped 32,376 people get registered to vote, making this the largest National Voter Registration Day on record. But with the most pivotal election of our lifetimes rapidly approaching, we’re determined to surpass last year’s totals.

Tomorrow League staff, volunteers, and supporters like you will be joined by thousands of exciting organizations, companies, celebrities, and everyday Americans—all with one goal in mind: to make sure everyone eligible can participate in our democracy.

In 2018, over 800,000 voters across the country used National Voter Registration Day to either update their voter registration information or get registered for the first time. Please make sure to get your family and friends to register—or check their registration—tomorrow to make sure we’re all ready for the upcoming elections.

Make sure your friends and family are registered to vote VOTE411

As the nation's premier grassroots organization with capacity in every state, we have the singular ability to ensure every eligible person has an equal opportunity to register and vote. Our dedicated volunteers are gearing up to register voters at transit hubs and grocery stores, libraries and gyms, theaters and community centers, high schools and naturalization ceremonies.

And we will continue to promote our newly designed, one-stop voter information resource, VOTE411.org, as a way to fully engage and empower voters with reliable, nonpartisan election and voter information.
