The League joined Common Cause and Project Vote on an amicus brief to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in the case of A. Phillip Randolph Inst. v. John Husted. The brief argues that Ohio's decision to remove voters from the rolls violated provisions in the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) that prohibit removal based on non-voting. The state used the failure to vote in two elections as the basis for the purge in question. The brief asks the Appeal Court to overturn the District Court's ruling and reinstate the voters to the rolls.
