League joins ACLU, DEMOS in submitting Comments to CMS

The League joined the ACLU and Demos on a federal register notice from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The request concerns a Paperwork Reduction Act notice regarding the healthcare.gov application process and voter registration. This work is done under Executive Order 14019 Promoting Access to Voting.

The comments cover the support that the three organizations have around expanding the National Voter Registration Act to cover inclusion of a voter registration form on the healthcare application through the federal exchange. The League, ACLU, and Demos have long advocated for inclusion of such a question and detail how the question would give millions of eligible Americans in underserved communities access to voter registration.
