The League of Women Voters is launching a tour to build power together across the south. The tour will crescendo to a South Region Movement Building Training that will bring together leaders from the Southern States to cast a collective vision, develop a shared analysis and strategy, and deepen relationships to manifest the Democracy that our communities deserve.

The recently leaked US Supreme Court draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization threatens to overturn the constitutional protection of abortion. If this decision is published, reproductive rights are predicted to largely become a state legislative issue. 

On Tuesday, May 5, the League's national organizing director, Alma Couverthie, spoke on the steps of the Supreme Court regarding the leaked draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade.

With the new year comes more litigation. In the past year, the League has continued our work of fighting against anti-voter bills and purges, challenges to new district maps, and pushing back against the increased attacks on reproductive rights. Here are a handful of the issues you may want to keep an eye on in 2022.
