Voting rights organizations, including League of Women Voters of Florida, Common Cause, and League of United Latin American Citizens, are continuing their legal challenge against Florida’s newly enacted congressional map after a circuit court judge declined to block the districts ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

The League of Women Voters of Florida, Common Cause, and the League of United Latin American Citizens, represented by the Southern Poverty Law Center, Southern Coalition for Social Justice, and Democracy Defenders Fund, filed a lawsuit in the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County to stop the new Florida Congressional map.  

Voting rights advocates filed a federal lawsuit challenging Florida House Bill 991, a new law requiring documentary proof of citizenship, warning that the measure will disenfranchise eligible voters and create unnecessary barriers to the freedom to vote

The US District Court for the Northern District of Florida issued a limited ruling striking down the application of specific provisions of Florida’s House Bill 1205.

On May 14, 2025, the League of Women Voters of Florida and LULAC filed to intervene in a lawsuit challenging Florida's HB 1205, which attacks the ballot initiative process in the state.
