In March, after two weeks of open debate on the Senate floor, senators left town without passing the SAVE Act, delivering a major defeat for anti-voter lawmakers in Washington.
Opposing the SAVE Act required dedication, as Senators delivered regular speeches on the Senate floor during debate. At least 38 Senators gave speeches strongly opposing the SAVE Act on the Senate floor, while even more gave speeches on other pressing issues to help prevent the SAVE Act from passing.
While the SAVE Act could be brought to the Senate floor again later this year, pro-democracy advocates across the country have shown just how hard we’re willing to fight to ensure equal access to the ballot box. We will continue to work together to protect voters from all voter suppression efforts, especially documentary proof of citizenship bills, like the SAVE Act! Please use the letter in the form below to thank your Senator if they worked to oppose the bill.
(Please note that if neither Senator from your state opposed the SAVE Act, the action alert will return a message stating that there are no eligible members of Congress for you to contact.)
