Join us and take action to ensure that fair redistricting is a nationwide priority.
Mark your calendars! On April 29, 2021, the League of Women Voters will host events around the country to increase public awareness and engagement around the redistricting process, and make sure the public's voice is heard.
Why is Redistricting important?
New district lines can be drawn to intentionally decrease voters' power based solely on their political party. We believe redistricting should be fair and transparent. Our program, People Powered Fair Maps™ advocates for redistricting processes that eliminate partisan and racial gerrymandering nationwide.

Join us and Manistee News Advocate for our town hall to learn more about the MICRC. To attend this virtual event, use this Zoom link.
LWV of Michigan and local Leagues
The LWV of Michigan is working hard to ensure Michigan’s redistricting process is as transparent as possible, with opportunities for the public to be informed and involved in creating new and fair state legislative and congressional maps. Being that this is a new process, the League has undertaken a widespread educational effort to help voters understand redistricting and to ensure the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission (MICRC) is doing what voters have asked: for citizens to draw district lines instead of legislators or special interests and for the commission to respect Communities of Interest -- populations that share cultural or historical characteristics or economic interests. To that end, the state and local Leagues are conducting educational virtual town hall meetings across the state about the redistricting process and how to get involved. Find a town hall near you using this link!
LWV of LouisianaET

This compelling and enthralling film was co-produced by Robert Millman and Rachel Millman. A Q&A session with co-producer Robert Millman will follow the viewing. Tickets are $2 per person.
