Call Script
Hello, my name is [FIRST AND LAST NAME] and I am a resident of [CITY, STATE].
Note: Be prepared to tell them your zip code if asked!
I am calling to express my extreme disappointment to [Senator NAME or Representative NAME] about the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This law will strip tens of millions of our most vulnerable neighbors of their health care and nutrition. Its massive Medicaid and SNAP cuts will cause 10 million more people to be uninsured by 2034 and could cause more than 22 million families to lose some or all of their SNAP benefits. This is after thousands upon thousands of people expressed their concerns about this bill. This is not what a democracy looks like.
[Feel free to insert personal experience that puts the face of these reforms front and center]
[If your member supported the bill]: As a constituent, I am disappointed that you have undercut your constituents to pass cuts to vital programs to offset tax cuts for wealthy Americans.
[If your member opposed the bill]: As a constituent, I appreciate that you stood up for your constituents, opposing cuts to vital programs to offset tax cuts for wealthy Americans.
Thank you for taking my call/meeting with me today!
