Parties in League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund, et al. v. Simon reached an agreement to suspend the state’s witness requirement for absentee ballots.

Vivian chose to join LWV of Minnesota Education Fund v. Simon because she hopes that, by telling her story, she can make progress in dismantling subtle systems of voter suppression.

The League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund filed a federal lawsuit challenging the state’s witness requirement for absentee ballot signatures.

Today, in a 7-2 decision that challenged political apparel at polling places, the Supreme Court ruled in Minnesota Voters Alliance v. Mansky that parts of the state’s law are too subjective, making its enforcement unreasonable.

Today the Supreme Court will hear arguments in Minnesota Voters Alliance v. Mansky, a challenge to a Minnesota statute that says political insignia may not be worn near polling places on election day.
