On February 12, I had the opportunity to participate in one of the many activities occurring across the country to commemorate the 100th birthday of the League of Women Voters.
Virginia ratifies the Equal Rights Amendment, achieving support from three-fourths of all 50 states required for the ERA to become a constitutional amendment.
This past Wednesday, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee ruled 21-11 to remove the ERA's ratification deadline and now the resolution moves to the House floor for a vote.
The Court provided clarity that state Attorneys General will maintain the exclusive right to bring future redistricting cases.
The sooner we can start educating young people about our election and voting systems, the more empowered they will be to make their voices heard.
