On Tuesday, September 24, the League of Women Voters and its state and local affiliates will join together with volunteers, activists and other organizations from across the country to participate in National Voter Registration Day, a nation-wide day of action to register voters. In 2008, six million eligible voters did not cast a ballot because they missed the voter registration deadline or did not know how to register. Hence the idea for a National Voter Registration Day was born, a non-partisan effort which aims to ensure no eligible voter is left out of the democratic process.
