Letter: Make Your Voice Heard, Register to Vote

This article originally appeared in lohud.com.

Here in the Lower Hudson Valley, many issues are ripe for debate. Jobs, health care, preserving the environment, clean energy and the taxes we pay for the privilege of living here are all-important topics residents think about every day.

Unfortunately, party politics and often-incoherent media coverage of the issues overshadow the fact that we all have a voice in influencing the future.

Your vote is your voice and it's important to make sure that your voice is heard! Tuesday, Sept. 23, is National Voter Registration Day. The League of Women Voters of the Rivertowns encourages all eligible residents to register and participate in our democratic dialogue.

The League of Women Voters of the Rivertowns will be registering voters in locations around your community. If you would like to help with voter registration, please contact Susan Goodwin at 914-332-7969.

For more information, or to register to vote, please visit http://www.nationalvoterregistrationday.org/.
