In Roseville, Celebrating 60 Years Meddling 'Where They Didn't Belong'

Sixty years ago, members of the Roseville, Maplewood and Falcon Heights League of Women Voters stuck their noses where they didn't belong -- or so said some of the men who held positions of power in Ramsey County's growing suburbs.

"Meddlers, Activists and Watchdogs," the name of a new free booklet celebrating the group's history since its founding in 1963, reflects how the women were regarded by some who resented their interference in civic matters -- and how they regarded themselves.
