Once again, Florida will seek to remove any non-citizens from its voter rolls. This week's presentation by Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner to area Supervisors of Elections was a positive first step toward establishing a process that is fair and supported by facts. However, past attempts at purging the voter files in Florida have been disastrous. Any future data cleaning of voter rolls should be fully transparent, with plenty of time for affected voters to cure their issue.
