WJLA Good Morning Washington: Registering to VOTE 2016 & getting to the polls with the League of Women Voters

WASHINGTON (ABC7) — The League of Women Voters was founded in 1920 as an outgrowth of the movement that secured women the right to vote to help new voters engage with their government. Today the League continues to empower all voters to improve their local, state and national government. Their CEO Wylecia Wiggs-Harris shared all of that information and more with GMW's Larry Smith.

Today is the voter registration deadline for DC, Virginia is on October 17th and Maryland is October 18th. The critical first step in political engagement for this election is ensuring registration. To find out if you are registered, visit Vote411.org. The site was launched in October of 2006, and is filled with bipartisan information related to the election including specific ballot questions for individual states.
