The League of Women Voters of Huntington wants to inspire more women to get into politics.
The league hosted a hands-on workshop Thursday that allowed female high school students to work with elected officials to create a mock campaign for a virtual female politician.
"The future lies in this generation of women who are presently in high school, and I hope someday they will consider public service and politics as a career," said Eileen Coblens, vice president of the Huntington League of Women Voters and a co-chairwoman of the event.
