Designing for Our Democracy – Getting Out the Vote with AIGA

Blog / Last Updated:

This year we are partnering with AIGA, the professional association for design, for a Get Out the Vote initiative seeking to motivate Americans to register and turnout to vote on Election Day – Tuesday, November 8.

Since the partnership launched on Presidents’ Day, graphic designers across the country have been busy creating sleek, beautiful and inclusive posters to encourage participation in the critical 2016 elections. We’re seeing voters engage in new and exciting ways with our political process this year and the variety of posters available by AIGA’s designers really highlights that. Check out the submissions thus far and print out your favorites to display to help encourage your friends and family to participate in this year’s elections!

In order to highlight the initiative, the League and AIGA will be taking on a range of promotional activities including encouraging our affiliates across the country to work together to empower voters in the lead up to the general election in November. Additionally, AIGA will be organizing exhibitions in conjunction with their national conference in Las Vegas as well as the Democratic and Republican National Conventions this summer in Philadelphia and Cleveland, respectively.

Each and every election this year is critically important and the League stands ready provide voters of all backgrounds with the elections information they need to take control on Election Day. Voting is your opportunity to support your community and have a say in its future. Together with your friends and neighbors, every vote counts and each vote makes a difference.
